Nothing moves in the courtyard for a second, and then the first rat-mutant gets into weapons reach. The twin linked heavy lasgun wakes up and shoots, the short blasts causing havoc along the lines of the beasts who don't seem to take it in account. The mass charges towards the gates and hell gets loose.

The team moves sideways, totally ignored now, and crawls away out of the way of the red lights curtain that blocks perfectly the open space of the gate. Soon, the corpses begin to pile up, and the mutants get closer under the improvised cover of the dead bodies.

Two grenades explode behind the gates clearing a path along the horde. As one, the soldiers focus their shooting on the area, and it widens up.
-Borgh!
A heavy armored figure runs towards the opening, and the heavy flamer in its hands lights up the underground with burning death. The rat mass freezes and scatters around far from the flames and regroups as soon as the blinding light of the petrochemicals fades out. With perfect timing, the tactic walker´s lascannon and the whole squad covers the flamer until its ready to shoot again.

And then… “Click” -Empty!!! They get in.

A huge mutant, covered with black fur jumps through the gap and lands on the flamer´s soldier taking him to the ground while sinking its sharp incisive teeth in the worn out helmet. A single shot penetrates in the red eye of the beast taking its head with it. Tanathos readies his weapon and shoots again to the incoming figures crossing his fire perpendicularly to the platoon, but the numbers start to weight more than fire.

As the mass gets in the complex, Little sister Titanya jumps in front of it shooting the Pacifier and disbands it like bowling pins being hit by a wrecking ball. She receives some friendly fire in the action, but some of it gets blocked by the heavy tank armor plates she´s carrying, and the rest is just ignored.

The same voice, loud and imposing keeps shouting orders from the back of the courtyard, organizing the defense and adapting it to the ever changing tides of war.
-Second line! Advance! First line, recharge!

Anya`s bold and stupid action gives all warriors in the facility a precious second to recharge and shoot down the now divided front. Veteran soldier Tempesti and Commisair Bryce cover the bleeding giantess while she now smashes heads and bodies with her empty gun as if it was a metal club.

Doctor Bast attends the body of the flamer`s soldier while ignoring the grim scene around her

Mechcult LIV is connected to the inner console next to the cladded gate and nods
-Ref1- Mutated beings seem to suffer natural disinclination towards high temperature reactions

The field doctor raises an eyebrow... Did the mechadept just make some kind of ... joke?

╙►Additional information 2- The main building inner defense system is functional.

1- Try to close the gates!
2- Switch the spotlight system on!
3- Run to the back of the courtyard and try to get in the main building!
